We have got Taylan and Lola in our class now. They are both very clever and are joining in with all our activities.

Welcome

Nathaniel has joined us in Room 1. Welcome to St Anne's, Nathaniel. We hope that you have a wonderful time at school.

JUST US

Here we are in Room 1. We have got 5 girls and 2 boys. We will have new children in our room soon. We are very busy learning lots of new things. We are using excellent manners and we always help each other.

I hope that everyone has had a wonderful, sunny holiday and a great start to 2012. This term is very busy and we will do our best to make the most of this Summer term.

We begin the year with PRAYER and move quickly into Lent which starts with Ash Wednesday in Week 2. Our main strand is “JESUS is our friend”.

English will have an emphasis on DESCRIPTIONS, especially increasing our vocabularies to help us to produce interesting descriptions in our writing and speaking. We will do many fun activities to provide opportunities for our writing.

Our school focus is ENERGY and in Science we will discover about mixing and melting under the title of “Sand, Salt and Jelly Crystals”.

In Health, later in the term, we will talk about healthy foods that provide us with energy.

As part of our Visual Art, we will be going on a visit to the Botanic Gardens on 27^th February. We will be involved in a 90 minute lesson on WATERCOLOUR painting led by an Art Gallery teacher. We will leave school at 10.00 and return by 3.00.  We will need to take our lunch and a jacket.

This term our PE is Kiwisport and  Adventure-based Learning entitled ”Creative Play” which will involve movement with much imagination using all parts of our bodies. Watch also for swimming times in the school newsletter.

The newsletter will come home every Wednesday so watch for it and read it carefully to ensure that nothing is overlooked in your family!

Reports and interviews are after 6 weeks and then 6 monthly but please ask questions or make a time to discuss any worries that you may have.

Students will bring home a reading book daily except on Friday when they will bring home their Letterland song book to sing to you at the weekend.
